Flashing Engine light

I hope someone can help me out with this weird problem i been having. About once a month ill jump in the jeep and start it up and the engine light starts flashing and of course its misfiring bad. I shut it off and wait 2 seconds start it back up and it runs fine. I haven't really investigated into it much cause like i said it only happens like once a month.Thanks for any help!

Any codes or have you checked ?
Weather , any differences ?
How long has it been doing this ?

Thanks Tom for the fast reply. Its a 2002, as for codes im getting p0300 p0301 p0303 weather is the same

Its been doing this for about 6 months. So may have happened 5 or 6 times.

How many miles on Jeep? Misfires not good.
Have you replaced the spark plugs? They should be changed every 30K miles anyways.
Only use NGK ZFR6F-11G gap at .040 inch.
If it is a higher mileage 3.7 do a compression test, record psi #s on each cylinder, report back findings.
