After about 80,000 miles of wondering where the slow coolant leak was, I discovered my CRD'S cylinder head is cracked. I would love to replace it if I can find another. I acquired the vehicle after my dad passed and I didn't want to like the Jeep, just fix the few minor issues & sell it. I fixed the minor issues and ended up having to drive it. I soon found how much I liked it. Everything works on it & even with coolant pooling into cylinder #2, it runs & drives as if nothing is wrong. It is a 2006, and I am open to either fixing it or selling it to someone who has time for such a project. Has a little over 220,000 miles on it now and is currently in the middle of Minnesota.. If you have parts or interest, please let me know.

Loads of heads on Ebay in Europe, might be worth looking at, failing that could you get a decent engine shop to tig it up?

You must be registered for see images attach

2.5 & 2.8 use the same heads, as far as I know everything except the liners and pistons are the same on the two engines.

There are a few 2.8l heads available
I'll look around a little & see what I can make happen.
Hope it's not a too good to be true thing

Car-part.com lists a few crd jeeps that look like possible donors.
The site from this suggestion still showing a few options, also more affordable than anticipated and some not too far away. I bookmarked that one for future searches. I opted to bring one in from the UK. We'll see what happens

Yup, too good to be true...
For some reason an aluminum cylinder head is deemed a restricted item and cannot be delivered.
Note to self - research Ebay's Global Shipping Program more closely prior to making purchase. They claim my $ will be refunded, but nobody gets the chunk of aluminum.

That's nuts!!
I'd guess the seller didn't tick the 'clean and free from oils' box in the declaration. I sent some gearbox parts to the US and had to give them a good clean before shipment.

Could be. I found a part reseller not too far from home that had one. Brought it home yesterday. Wasn't as nicely priced but was fair enough. Needs to be cleaned up. A smart person would go through and check the valves & seals.... A lazy person would just throw it on & expect success... Hmmm... Am I smart or lazy today? I feel something like this could go either way with this lil bugger!
