factory tow package & startup noise

Does the extra fan that comes with the factory tow package make the Liberty sound louder for the first few minutes of operation (maybe due to the fan clutch)? It sounds louder than the Liberty V6s without the factory tow packages.

yea, it does. all mech fans do that until they warm up.

It also seems to have a strain on the engine that goes away when the noise stops. Is that normal, too?

Yes, it does put a strain on the engine until it warms up. Take it off and sell it to me if you would like. O
