i have the head unit with a CD and cassette player built in, also with the 6disc changer in the cargo area.

this head unit is starting to give problems so i am looking for a replacement, can i get one from another chrysler vehicle with the CD changer built into the head unit, then i could have 12 discs, or 6 in the head unit and i-pod interface instead of the cd changer in the back?

You could probably get another stock replacement by model # easily but why bother?
The stock head units were not exactly what I would call clear or powerful.
I gave up on cd's /mp3 player plug ins and simply went with a new Pioneer head unit with a 4000 song USB flash drive with all the mp3's on it.

What problems is it giving you? I replaced the original one with the RAH code cd/mp3 cd player, then installed the sat radio adapter to run a cord out for my mp3 player. You could get the in dash 6cd or pretty much any of the other ones and go with the Terk and a 3.5mm jack to RCA adapter.

I was thinking that but I didn't want to mess with the wiring for a harness and antenna adapter. I just picked up a factory refurb with an added 3.5mm jack.

That one says it's for Sony head units, would it work with factory RBK one? I just picked one up on ebay but got the 8pin Din one instead of 10 pin. So I am looking for the right one now.

Crap I didn't notice, sorry. It looks like that, but there is one that is for factory HU's.
