interesting, I doubt the PCV is stuck open as the shake test says other wise, but I may be wrong. I was just under the KJ about an hour ago and didn't see a service/access panel. is the panel directly under the bell housing or is it off to one side? ive got an 02 3.7
I went from a quart every K down to almost nothing by replacing my PCV valve, and it passed the "shake test"
you also need to make sure the hose between PCV and intake manafold is not clogged
My guess you have gotten to the point of no return in terms of engine wear. this meaning that the rings are worn as well as the block allowing for excessive blowby into the pcv system.
Is the air filter possibly soaked with oil? It could be one spot where the blow by could end up

One big question is the jeep down on power?
If you take the oil fill cap off while its running, do you feel a lot of air being forced out? That's one way to check for a worn out engine.
This is what i wanna hear! Im ganna check right now.. so im getting absolutely no air Being forced out or in. When i put oil in last i had the motor running and it was sucking the oil in causing a slurping sound so im not thinking the motor is worn beyond use. I still need to do a compression test, i wanna say thatll tell me a lot
As of the past few weeks ive been at 4.5-6krpm very often lately so im thinking changing my driving conditions will Ultimately lessen my oil consumption.
I've only had my '02 for about two months now, but I doubt that I've hit 4000 rpm more than a few times and that would have been to get up to speed for merging onto the interstate. Of course I'm a few years older than you.
Alright well i pulled my dipstick this morning and it was empty, so this is my filling time line, ive gone about 300 Miles and lost all my dipstick in oil, so not sure what that tells you guys other than roughly 1 quart every 100 miles with no leaks or noticeable smoke out the tail pipe, but after this filling, im going to baby the shit out of my Jeep and see if i see the same oil consumption. As of the past few weeks ive been at 4.5-6krpm very often lately so im thinking changing my driving conditions will Ultimately lessen my oil consumption.
If its losing that much oil you have a major issue no matter if you baby it or not , babying it may help a small amount but not sure it .
