Easy-Rider Tight-Turn Steering Knob

Although I originally bought this steering knob for my lawn tractor to take the strain off of my left arm and shoulder, I putting it on my KJ steering wheel and I'll go buy another one for the tractor today.
With the power steering it should be really convenient and make driving a little easier for me.

I had those on my boat, and they did make docking easier, but out on the water I felt it got in the way.....

They're illegal in PA, and some other states... I had one on my tracker; State Trooper made me remove it while he stood there.

Here too for everybody.
With one exception, people with physical disabilities are permitted to use them to help aid their driving. And unfortunately I fall into that category due to the fact that I am a gimp!

I had one in my Mini in Holland that I should of taken along with me.

Yep those are pretty much illegal in the US,includes special ability people also.Doesn't really stop anyone from using them though.

They used to call them "suicide knobs". They used to be made of metal and chrome plated with fancy mother of pearl inlays in them and not a plastic pos. I havn't seen one in years......... As far as I know, they are illegal for use on a vehicle driven on the road.....haha

Yeah, let that slip out of your hand while making a turn and that knob could spin around and break your wrist!

They called them suicide knobs (real name is brodie knob) because they broke off in mid spin and caused an accident, more fatal thus the name.

I find it most useful when parallel parking or backing up.
Other than that, it doesn't get used for just everyday normal driving.

I used mine for parking mostly... I also backed in the steering stops as far as they would go on the Tracker, and I could park that thing in a space that was only 4"-6" larger than the tracker itself... THAT was nice... I was attempting a park, when some dude shouted out his window "No way man!!!" When he came around the block again, he was surprised to see us getting out, and it parked there... Yeah, when I got the Tracker back in 95, it would not even U-turn in a 4-lane highway!!! That's how bad it was. After the adjustment, the wheels would almost go completely horizontal, with the wheel turned as far as it would go, and only the STOPS prevented it from going farther, before the suspension itself stopped it by binding up. It was not Rack and Pinion, was that recirculating ball steering system. SO, imagine parking when your front wheels can go almost 90-degrees either way from straight...

They dont really work well with vertical steering wheels. They are meant for horizontal steering wheels where you actually go back and forth as you turn the wheel.. I can understand bus drivers using them with their 30 inch steering wheels!!
