Spools I think aren't really meant for on road driving. For the front, a DTT is a good option. For the rear, many run the Aussie and ARB for a manual locker, and for an auto locker, the Powertrax seems popular.

If you like road manners dont get the power trax no slip. It will bang pop, click, KA POW, just imagine those old bat man shows while youre driving down the road and that will be your powertrax.

TT for the front is a good choice and it is for the rear too unless you are wanting a locker back there.

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
You really have only 2 options for the front--either the DTT or the ARB.

For the rear there are more options, the best being the ARB,then the full Detroit locker.I'd stay away from those lunchbox lockers(aussie and powertrax),they cost almost as much as a Detroit and tend to blow up rather easy.If you go with a lunchbox locker make sure you keep the original spider gears, you will need them when the lunchbox locker self destructs.

Have an Aussie now. Just go with a Detroit. When income tax return rolls around, one's going in ThunderbirdJunkie's KJ

How long have you been running the DTT, Gary? Wasn't aware you had one. :)
I bought the the d30a from jsc that had the DTT already installed and just changed out the front diffs. And put his ome springs on at the same time. I think it was in September.

why dont you like the Aussie? i have heard good things about the powertrax no-slip i know a few people who have run them on a toyota 8 inch, one dude has 70,000 miles on it with no problems.

I know there is worry about the open carrier breaking, but i have never heard of it with tires under 32 inches or so. the ones that have broken i hear that Richmond is good with returns.

I have driven a truck with an old school detroit locker, so clicks, pops, bangs, and inconvenient lock ups dont bother me.

Those lunchbox style lockers have a high failure rate, not worth the money and wasted vehicle down time.

It's noisy as shit and has a TON of slack in it coming from a red light. If ThunderbirdJunkie found that acceptable, he'd still be driving a beat up '89 Isuzu Trooper with worn out U joints.

And that
