Dash lights don't dim?

When I turn the dash light dimmer, they just stay at the bright setting, and the dome lights don't come on when I get to that setting. Dome lights come on when opening the doors.
What to check?
I kind of hope it's the multifunction switch, than I can get the new one that adds fog lights.:gr_grin:

I'd start with the dimmer itself.

I have the same issue with my 2003 Liberty.

How do you check the dimmer?

Do you mean remove the left stalk and take it apart?
