Over the past month or so I've noticed that my 2006 Jeep Liberty Limited has started to make a creaking noise when it's a little off balance, such as driving down and uneven drive-way. I believe it's coming from the back? Thoughts???

Mine has been creaking in the rear ever since the lower control arm recall. Up until then It never creaked. I think it's the sway bar.

Only side to side suspension motion causes it to creek. If I go over a speed bump straight on. Nothing. If you go over one of those angled speed bumps then it creeks since one tires goes before the other.

My Father as an 2005 KJ that does the same thing after his recall too.

Mine did it pretty bad (still does...a little I think but not badly), I got some Sil Glyde at Napa and did the weather stripping with it and I also sprayed all the hinges, latches, etc with white lithium spray.

Update
I looked at where the rear sway bar mounts just like the above link. I believe I fixed my creaking. I loosened the bolts, put a little grease under the bar where it contacts the lower control arm and torqued the bolts to 70ftlb. If 70ftlb is what those bolts are supposed to be the dealer didn't have mine tight enough after doing the recall. I'll post an update if the noise comes back.
