Hey there! I bought a used 2003 Renegade, cactus Green with an ARB bumper, several months ago and I think it is quickly becoming one of my favorite vehicles I have ever owned. It is fully loaded, comfy, and fully functional. They guy before me owned it from new, had been a Jeep man all his life (he and his wife replaced it with a brand new Commander, as they needed something bigger to pull their camper), and took GREAT care of it. This is my first Jeep, but I am starting to understand what they mean when they say, "It's a jeep thing. You wouldn't understand."

welcome to another Ohio member

We have a ton of people from down your way on LOST KJs/ LOST Jeeps, we do several runs every year / meet and greets almost every month. Also get together to do lifts etc. Yours have a lift on? Hope so with the ARB!! ;)

Did you buy it from a guy that lived in/near Sharonville? Used to see that KJ all the time when ThunderbirdJunkie worked there.

Where in Cincinnati do ya live?

Tom: Thanks good to know, I would really like a chance to get out and do some light wheeling in it, and I have no idea where to do that around here. I am originally from one of those small KY towns where all you had to do was ask someone to go back in their back 40 and you could wheel around back there

Thunderbirdjunkie: He lived in Fairfield. I live in Springfield Township.

Tahoe: Pics...let me see what I got.

That is it. Thanks thunderbirdjunkie!

Those pics were taken with the now ever present camera phone. Good picture quality, no. Always there when you need it, yes.

So as you can see, no lift yet. I would like another 2 inches.

Does anyone know if you can switch out the flat top hood and grille from an 05+ Renegade onto an 03?

Well fine as it is that is aside from the needing another 1" or 2" lift...and maybe some rock sliders..hummmmm...well of course there are things to do, and while I like that newer renegade front end I like mine enough to better spend that money on other things...like a gas tank skid...

So does that KJ have any lift on it or just stock springs hard to tell, looks stock though , bet those springs are ready to start stacking....mmmm we can help you out!!;):D:D:D:D:Dicon996.gif

I think I've seen that one running around. I bet there is something else under there beside stock, at least some rear spacers and maybe clevis lift. That front still seems to be setting up with the ARB on it.

Hey, I work in Woodlawn, live in FF twp, feel free to contact me if ya need help or need something looked at. I've done 2-3 Libby lifts so I can help ya.

Tahoe: I'm sure you saw it, the guy I bought it from lived in Fairfield.
Thanks, I'll keep that offer in mind when the time comes because I am sure a small lift at least is in the future. Probably in the summer I hope. It seems pretty stock to me, but I haven't poked around to see if there are spacers up there. Since it is my daily driver I don't want to take it too much higher than stock. I'd like to keep my road handling close to as it is and I don't want my tires TOO much bigger throwing the speedo way out. I am thinking about the Rocky Road lift. Thoughts?

Tom and Thunderbirdjunkie: A little stacking sounds good! That is exactly why I got this Liberty. I looked at it and said, it is pretty much where I would want one. The renegade skids, limited slip, and light bar. The renegade cargo system (Very useful but I didn't like the bulky look of them) replaced with yakima bars, ARB bumper. It is everything I wanted plus leather and sunroofs. I thought, "Yeah it's close enough to perfect I wouldn't need to do anything." But man a little bit extra height would really complete the functionality...and it would complete the look too.

Uhm, When Tom mentioned stacking, I figured he meant the springs are getting worn out and the coils are starting to literally "stack" onto each other, correct me if I'm wrong Tom, know you've had to do it before...
Most any lifts are going to net you 2" at least. You can do a "clevis lift" to gain about another inch up front, then use some isolators out back to get another inch or 1 1/2. Most people will tell you go with OME springs to get at least 2-3" of lift, you will need the heavier ones due to the front bumper out there.
"TOWSTRAP" on LOSTKJS has 2-3" and runs 245/75/16's I think, lot of wheel space with smaller tires, but looks okay. There are a lot of options out there, have do do some searching, but your best bet is to use OME springs or get a Frankenlift from boulderbars.com

ALWAYS funny to me when someone says its my DD and I want good ride etc.
Mines a DD and lifted over 3.5 inches running 265-75s and rides way better than stock
Once you ride in one with upgraded springs and shocks you will slap yourself silly wondering why you did not do it sooner. I take turns now at 65 that when stock felt scary at 50 !

But what ever you like,

and yes stacking is when springs settle on top of each other which if you have stock springs will happen soon!

OH and ROCKY ROAD ....well just stay away if for nothing elsetheir customer service ***** big time and they do not have any better prices than anyone else
If you want me to tell you how I really feel just ask!:D:D:D:D
