i saw a 1996 wrangler with a 6" lift and all this ofther off road stuff on it. it said he never took it off road but i could tell from the chunks missing out of the tires and the skids had recenetyly been take off that was a lie. it had 50000 miles and he wanted 24k.
Well first off there is no such thing as a 1996 Wrangler,Jeep never made any Wrangler that where model year '96,went from '95 right to '97(YJ to TJ).That guy is a idiot.
Modding a Jeep(unless totally radical and all custom,in pristine condition) actually lowers the value, not increase it.You lift it-you lose about 25%-40% value, but there are those suckers that will pay those high prices though,so sad.$24,000 for a non-existant '96 Wrangler, even lifted,is a total rip-off,$4000-$5000 is the norm.Heck you can find lifted TJ's here in CO,fully outfitted with ARB lockers and 4:1 t-cases,with 50,000-100,000 miles for about $5000-$7500 and range from '98-'02 model years.
