I have not changed my plugs since I bought my liberty(50 k ago) I have an 04 and have looked at the plugs and it just seems a little difficult. Does anyone have a how to on changing the plugs? It looks like certain ones will be difficult to reach or get to. Planning on getting bosch plugs to replace with. Are there any weird things I need to take off before replacing plugs? Anyone know the recommended gap for the new plugs?

Oh man, the plugs are so easy to change.

You can even find a video on the LOST boards, or is that video posted here?

Tools:
1 Bungie cord to retain the coolant bottle (unbolt the coolant bottle, don't drain it, secure it to the wiper arm)

1 10 mm socket
1 5/8 spark plug socket
socket wrench that fits your sockets.
1 2" extension (for the 10mm socket)
1 6" extension (for the 5/8" socket)
New autolight or your favorite brand plugs
tube of antisieze.
Case of cold drinks and a 1/2 hour in the garage.

Find the video and it'll all make sense - but this change is so super easy.

Change those plugs. You will be amazed at how much better it will run just by doing that.

I never changed plugs with the coil packs on them before and found it was real easy. I pulled the coil packs and didn't even need to disconnect the wireing harness as there was just enough slack to pull them up and out of the way. When I put the new plugs in I put a little anti-seize on the threads. On the coil pak 0-ring seal I used a little dialectic grease to keep the rubber supple and help it seal. The first 5 plugs went fast......maybe 20 minutes max. The #6 plug (passenger side firewall) then took me another 15-20 minutes as I needed to move the anti-freeze reservoir out of the way. I found the bolts for that were also 10mm...same as the coil pak bolts. I am sure If I were a professional mechanic I could have done it much faster. But they are easy enough even for me so any of you guys can do it.
