Car Alarms

I have Jeep stock car alarm and I want to upgrade the alarm to something better.

For those who upgrade your car alarms, what do you have? Do you like it? Do you recommend it?

I have a Viper system. It was not cheap and was way too complicated for me to install myself. Works great, though, and the remote works up to 1/2 mile away. (They advertise that it's good for up to a mile, but you'd better be on a hill in the desert to get that.)

Installed, it cost me the same as the insurance deductible after the break-in I had which led me to buy it.
