Can I use the 3.7 engine from a 2012 with 3 coils in my 2008 with 6 coils

hi. Can I use the 3.7 engine from a 2012 Jeep Liberty in my 2008. 2012 engine with 3 coils 2008 with 6 coils, what canges i have to do to swap engines?

You’d have to use all the electrical bits from the 08 on it because by 2012 the computer systems were different. I would expect the engine itself is the same. I haven’t heard you have to change reluctor rings or anything like you do going from an 02 to an 05. But again, no personal experience. Just been on the Liberty forums since 2011.
