Hey guys - my 6 year old wants to ride shotgun in my 2006 liberty 3.7.

However- i cant disable the passenger airbag and i cant find info regarding any sort of weight sensoring system.

The spec sheet says something about a multistage next generation airbag system (10 year old car...next generation has children by now...)

any ideas? can my 6 year old ride in the passenger seat?

Looking at your location, I thought for a moment things may be different in Israel than in the US, regardless of how bad an idea this is. Then I looked it up:

Israeli law requires that all passengers in a car use a seat belt. In addition the following rules apply for children:

Babies aged up to 1 year must be seated in an appropriate seat facing opposite to the direction of travel.

Children aged 1 - 3 must be seated in an appropriate car seat facing in the direction of travel.

Children aged 3 - 8 must be seated in a booster seat.

Children aged 8 and up should be strapped in, using the car's regular seat belt.

Children should never be seated in a child seat or booster opposite an active air bag.

Regulations taken from the website of the Israel National Road Safety Authority

If there is not a key port to actively and safely disable the passenger airbag on your Liberty, then there is no safe way to do so except for physically removing it.

Nonetheless, at age 6, I highly doubt the child is tall enough nor heavy enough to safely be seated in the front seat and be able to utilize the seat belts.

I advise against this, so sorry bud. My 4yr old son is the size of a 6 yr old, and I would not, and when he asks, do not allow this either. His safety is NOT something I compromise or take risks on.
