Brakes from hell

I've owned my 2003 Jeep Liberty Sport for not quite a year now, and have had nothing but rear brake trouble since the purchase. I've had it back to dealer several times with rear calipers sticking. They keep doing everything but replacing calipers. They put new pads and rotors on at a cost of 400.00 , after I told them it was the calipers. Now only a month into the new repairs, the constant chirping of the rear brakes has once again raised it's ugly head. I know damned well it's the calipers. I'm not a mechanic, but is there any way to lube calipers? If so , with what? How much would new calipers cost, and would they end up doing same thing? I don't want any more parts from Chrysler Jeep. The rotors they put on are as junky as the first. I'd sooner buy after market calipers, but would sooner save the expense if someone could tell me how to lube calipers. Any info is greatly appreciated.

First thing I would do is stay away from the dealership. They probably know what the problem is but are just replacing other stuff to get money.

Take it to a good local mechanic and tell him what the problem is. If the rear calipers are sticking once again, then it MAY need new pads and rotors again depending on how long they have been sticking.

You can lube certain parts of the caliper, but I dont not know what part is sticking. I took my rear calipers off and lubed the pins that allow the caliper to move back and forth when the brake it applied. There was NO lube what so ever on my pins. I could also see where some corrosion was setting up and could cause them to stick. If its the piston that is sticking, then its best to get new calipers.

You can get calipers fairly cheap at any AutoParts store. I personally like Napa..

There are 2 pins that the rear caliphers slid on,take the caliphera off and try lubing those pins(they should be covered with a black rubber boot).Also make sure to use some disc brake stop squeak on the back of the pads,it's cheap and found at all parts stores.If that does not work you can try remaned rear caliphers from places like Napa,they are still DCX caliphers(not going to find any others,sorry) but with all new inside guts.As for cost of remaned caliphers it is tough to say unless you call them,there will be a core charge until you return the old one and then you will get the core charge back.Last time I got remaned caliphers it was for my ex's '98 grand,I got the rear caliphers and they only cost me $24 with a $8 core charge.If that does not help then your parking brake is out of wack and needs to be adusted or replaced.

Never, ever, ever tell a dealership what is wrong with a vehicle.

They take this as attitude and you'll NEVER get anything fixed.

They broke my brakes, They are spongy they are ****** and they are noisy now. I went back, they said they won't even give warranty on the brakes, 10 months later, they said it is wear and tear. They admitted that the replacement brakes are mopar value lines, and they are high dust, so they squeek like hell.
