2002 liberty Renegade v6 3.7l
front disc rear drum No abs
this problem has been happening for a few months intermittently
when first starting out, brakes work good, sudden stops and gradual stops work like normal
but after 10-15mins of driving, the gradual stops still work fine, but if you then push the pedal harder, no increase in braking power, pedal is still firm with pressure and feels like the normal pedal, just the lack of the extra stopping power
font pads still have around 10mm remaining(ceramic pads put on a few years ago), rear shoes at the lowest tapered top edge have 4mm
tried testing the power booster by pumping the brakes with the engine off till firm pedal then, held pressure and started jeep, pedal depressed about 1 inch which i believe shows the power booster works
since noticing the problem, replaced rear wheel cylinders as 1 had a very small leak inside the wheel cylinder, hoped that would fix it, had the brake lines flushed, then i bleed them a second time
I was first thinking brake fade, caused by glazed over pads or rotors, so I was going to buy new pads and rotors,
other possible causes include bulging brake lines, haven't noticed that (if suggested to replace the rubber lines, any steel braided lines avail?)
another possible cause is early MC failure, however the times the brakes lack the extra stopping power the pedal dose not fall to the floor and the pedal still has the same feel, just not stopping, also since it has been going on a few months, I figure the MC would have failed by now
just seeing what you guys might think is the problem
