Now that's a unique technique.
When being taken by surprise by someone at gunpoint, be sure to ask the guy to give you a moment to reach for your gun from the console! Sneaking your hand to a concealed gun that's holstered on your left side can give him the surprise of his (remaining) life. I wouldn't have my gun anywhere but on me.

By the time I get stopped the gun will be in my hand.
If I'm getting in the jeep,it won't be in the holster until I'm seated with the door locked.
I prefer not have it within reach of someone standing outside.

Their recommended holster for my M&P40 fullsize seems a little small.
You really have to jam it into the holster to achieve this:

With reasonable pressure,it doesn't seat fully.

My concern is the ability to draw the gun quickly if you have to jam it in.

I have a Passport holster that seems to work better.

I'm attempting to resolve this with Gum Creek and will update the results.

Problem fixed!

Both Gum Creek and lanworldinc (the eBay seller) have been outstanding in correcting
the "fit" problem. They have replaced the #16 holster with a #21.

As shown, the holster fits perfect now, without having to jam it in.

As you can see, this gun has the Crimson Trace on the top of the right side
grip panel.

This setup fits the 2012 Liberty very well, and it's gratifying to have a high-capacity.40 S&W ready at my fingertips, when I'm in the Jeep.
As soon as this winter weather lets up,I'll take some pictures of the holstered gun, mounted under the steering wheel.
This setup is better because these Libertys don't have a lot of room to mount a pistol on the side of the center console.
This is the ebay seller of this setup:
