Today I saw a Liberty with "Black Tie Edition" badges on it, what does this mean? It looked like any other 05-07 KJ with a Chrome grille and nerf bars anyone ever heard of this package?

EDIT: NM I found it in my 2007 Liberty Accessories brochure, It is just a dealer installed package with Chrome wheels, Steps and Taillight guards (Like the earlier Chrome appearance package) it just includes "Black Tie Edition" decals.

I haven't heard of it. It could be a 'fabricated' special edition... like some people choose to do.

See the Edit in my post, It is a Dealer installed package.

From the 2007 Jeep Liberty Mopar Accessories Brochure:

Give your highly capable Liberty some cosmopolitan appeal with the Black Tie Package It features stylish substantial accessories that add a touch of class to any occasion: on or off road.

*16X7 Inch 5 spoke Chrome Cast Aluminum Wheels.
*Chrome Tubular Side Steps.
* Chrome Taillamp Guards.
*Black Tie Decals

There are actually alot of these 'Mopar special editions or packages' but most don't have badges to differentiate them. So far these are the ones that I have found in the different brochures:

Patriot Edition
Wagoneer
Off-Road Package which differs in the equipment included based on the year
Chrome Accent Package again differs based on the year
Adventure Package
Appearance Package
Graphite Package
Interior Package
Black Tie Edition

I can just imagine how much the dealer wants for that...not for the add-ons but just for giving it their own name and decal

The only edition that really counts is the OME (real) 4.5 Trail Rated Edition.
The way they should have come from factory.
