OK so I'm bringing this thread back from the dead!

I've been reading the old posts, and don't see all that much about what spare tire racks have worked for you...

I picked up a sportrack spare tire bike rack today, went to put it on and the freaking mount is about a millimeter too big! I really like the rack as it'll carry 3 bikes, instead of two... anyone else have this problem? Any spare tire rack that locks that you know of that are pretty good? Or did you shave out a bit of the inner rim?

I use a 99 Mopar rack for a Grand Cherokee that a friend gave me. It only holds 2 bikes but it is made well. It has a lot of interstate travel on it. A hitch extender gets it past the spare. The cheap racks rust up if you leave them on or keep them outside. Since I have already had a flat with the bikes on the back, you couldn't give me a spare tire bike rack.
