I have an 05' liberty sport, would like to lift it, but the offroad store by me said i cant use my factor rims! I have 5.750 backing space and they said 5.5 is the limit with a lift! I have p225/70/16 tires, I want to lift it now but dont want to change tires and rims. Has anyone run into this problem?

Almost everybody uses factory wheels.

I've got a backspace of 4.0 on my aftermarket wheels, and I get a little rubbing. (and I had to do some trimming)

No need to backspace using factory rims. Nearly everyone who has lifted their KJ has been able to use factory wheels. I never changed mine on my 04' KJ. I have 245/70/16 Revos with 2" BDS lift kit. No problems.
