I used a Dremel. Went through the plastic bumper like butta. Was pretty simple. I wouldn't have done it, because I think it looks better with the bottom un-chopped off, but I had thrashed the bottom pretty bad on rocks. Made the clearance much better though; so it was worth it.

I cut out slots on my '06 for front tow hooks and just used a good, sharp utility knife. Got nice clean cuts with it. If you're chopping a lot off, probably be better to use something bigger then come back to detailing with the utility knife if needed.

I think I'm going to do this to Mr. Darcy since my mission to get the repairs paid for isn't looking good. Some clearance up front would be nice for beaching and if I ever do get the money from the d*bag who hit me I can get a new bumper, or some gear with the initials OME!

No!

But I'm ready to remove the front bumper altogether and fab up a tubular bumper that connects to the Backbone!

thanks for all the imput !!!!

I really recommend you try a utility knife first. It sliced right through mine and made a very clean cut.

I just took some more pics for the lost forums:

That would be really nice. I see people all the time on the beaches of North Carolina who end up getting their front bumper half ripped off when they try to power through a rut.
