On the boot, are there other options for strapping it to the driveshaft other than the metal banding strip? Would a simple zip tie be ok or would it throw the driveshaft out of balance? The banding strip that came in the kit is kind of bent up and doesn't really want to tighten down. I guess I could try to reuse the old one or see if I can flatten this one out more. I'm not sure what happened in the packaging but I didn't notice until I got it all together and went to tighten the band. If I need a new one I'll have to wait until late this week to work on it.

there's a special tool for that but I just did my best with it to get it tight.
I would use it then put a zip tie over it.

shouldn't throw the driveshaft off balance. it is just holding the rubber boot down.

I couldn't get the new band that came with mine tight either . I reused the original band & it went back on good & tight . I would think a zip tie would be fine though .
