Wow seems like I've been having some issues lately. :favorites68:

Just noticed today when slowing to a stop, there is a rotational noise that sounds like it's from the front and at anything above 30 it just sounds like a tire slapping the road then when it gets to 15 or under it feels like a grind kind of. I checked the CVs while I was under it for the diff fluid change and the boots looked good. Putting it into 4 full time didn't change it. Feels brake related almost because if I coast to a stop nothing happens. Turning doesn't effect it.

It seems just like this issue.

HJ, I had a rotational noise like that and was sure it was a CV or brakes. After I eliminated the CV's and brakes as potential causes I was left with the wheel bearings - even though the noise didn't change during a turn.

I replaced both sides within a couple of weeks of each other, passenger side first cuz the noise was coming from that side. Problem went away - but it was interesting to me that the driver side bearing sounded MUCH worse when I rotated it in my hand when I took it out of the spindle. Weird...

Hopefully it's in your brakes as those are easier to fix. That said the bearing R&R wasn't that big of a deal - took about an hour each side.

I wonder if this can be done on the 4x4? Unloaded in gear? Possibly to determine problem is to engage 4x4 & get KJ on lift.
Then with someone inside on gas pedal at 1000 rpm, person below uses an auto stethoscope and places in different areas like hub, cv can, brake rotor back etc and then u can pinpoint location of rotational noise...??

Figured out the issue I think. I'll post a new thread later but it involved a tow truck.
