Anyone used Permatex products?

(edited entire thread)

Specifically, the "Permatex, Inc. 80331 Muffler And Tailpipe Bandage"

For some reason, I can't stop a leak where the tailpipe and muffler connect on my Magnaflow kit. When I block the tailpipe, exhaust leaks out in this area. "Why block the tailpipe?" VA safety inspections do it, so if they detect this leak, "FAIL!".

It's hard to say I did not tighten the clamps enough because I actually ended up breaking the stud on the clamp from tightening it so hard; had to run out and buy a U-Clamp. I've tried placing the clamp in different positions, but no luck.

Anyway, this product is advertised as a permanent repair, but...I'll probably only use this Jeep for another few years before selling it (for another Jeep, of course!). You think this may work? I know welding may be the best solution, but I did that to my previous aftermarket exhaust and it corroded (the reason I got this new one).
