adding sensor to factory security alarm system

Has anyone added a glass break sensor or proximity sensor to the existing factory security alarm system??

haven't found anything concrete.

There's been a lot of smash and dash at my complex.

i went through the FSM and the export model has a proximity sensor for the interior.
Anyone overseas with it?

I think I should be able to but a glass break sensor and tie it in to the wiring for the door ajar alarm.

An Intrusion Transceiver Module (ITM) is part of
the Export premium version of the Vehicle Theft
Alarm (VTA) in the Vehicle Theft Security System
(VTSS) (Fig. 9). The Export premium version of the
VTA is only available in vehicles built for certain
markets, where the additional features offered by
this system are required. The ITM is located in the
passenger compartment, on the lower surface of the
headliner near the center of the vehicle. This component
is designed to provide interior motion detection,
and serve as an interface between the Body Control
Module (BCM) and the alarm siren module.

*looks like export model uses a separate siren instead of the horns like the domestic models.

My Viper security system was $500 installed. That might sound like a lot, but the repair from the break-in was $2,000. Not to mention that it was never right after that.
