2005 renegade, all stock - i had the trans flushed and a new filter installed a few months back at 65k on the clock - mechanic said he put 5 qts of ATF +4 in but the stick is still reading low, he told me if it still looks low after driving it add a quart - so, i started to notice after all the heavy weather we have been having in the northeast here and the constant use of the full time 4WD that the hesitation in shifting between 1st and 2nd that the 42RLE's are famous for (although it was news to me) seems to be a bit more obvious, so i added half a quart, now i can feel every shift, not just 1st to 2nd - its not terrible, but i notice it - my question is, does anyone know if this is going to do damage or is there a way to get that "extra" fluid out of the trans without dropping the pan? or is it fine they way it is? - the stick seems to be reading at normal levels now but i would hate to need a new transmission in 6 months because i added a half a quart of fluid - any help would be great
