2wd to 4wd?

Are the uniframes/bodies on KJ's the same between 2wd and 4wd? I have a real nice body available to me, less motor trans and exhaust, but it's 2wd. I have everything for 4x4, so if the only difference is the front k-member and other obvious things such as diff, trans,, tcase, linkage etc, then I am going to buy it.

If it is as I suspect and they are all bolt-in parts, there will be another one here to fix up this week to sell.


I'm on a time crunch...have to get it in less than 12 hours if I'm going to get it at all. A fast response would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, the parts will bolt on...

The question is what impact the computer will have on the conversion. Will that 2WD computer accept your 4WD parts? Dunno...

What computer would have any difference with any of that? The TCU doesn't know if the trans is 2x4 or 4x4. The ECU likewise. The BCM might, but it shouldn't be a problem.

biggest problem, this one is for resale, so now the VIN won't read right with the fact that it's 4x4.
