Hello,

Just got myself a set of 5 MOAB rims from a TJ (with one 245/75/16 Duratrac MTRs as the spare from the previous owner).
Currently I have 235/75/16s and it didn’t rub when it was stock, and still doesn’t rub after installing the 2” BDS lift.

I’m looking at 265/75/16 tires but wanted an expert opinion if it will rub on any of the suspension/swaybar/etc. I remember on a previous thread that Tom replied that it’s helpful to have the measurement from the centre of the front wheels to the fender flare to help answer my question. I’ll measure it tomorrow and attach the pictures.

currently I’m looking at the Motomaster Total Terrain AT3, and the Yokohama Geolandar G015AT

thanks! :)

I think those are the same tires that were on my moabs when I got them, i know the size is the same. They rubbed plenty and I'm sitting at 22.5 ish. Go with 265/70 16. Not much smaller but just smaller enough to reduce a lot of rubbing.

245 75 16 came stock on Moabs, But I like the way 265-70-16s sit on the wheel better, looks and performs better
and you mentioned 265-75-16, no way on 2 inches of lift
245-75-16s and 265-7016s are the same height

never heard of Motomasters must be some cheap off brand made in Bummer Egypt

Thank you. I meant to say 265 70 16s in my original post

Hey Tom. Thanks for your input. Will the 265/70/16s rub with my fender flare height? And from what I heard, the Motomasters are rebranded Cooper Discoverer tires

Thanks for the link! I also used that website - it’s really helpful since it gives you a visual comparison. I decided to put on 265 70 16 Motomaster AT3s. Had to pound the pinch weld and heat up the wheel well. It still rubs when fully locked - thinking of trimming the majority of the plastic cover in the wheel well

265 75 16s and 2.5 inches of lift, bad idea and you need to regear

I only cut the lower part of the front cover bumper ant the inner splash fender (for better attack angle) as you can see on the previous pic.
Have been running this set up since 2018 whitout any problem.

Did you regear ? I ran over 4 inches of lift, 4.10 gears and 265-75-16s and gearing still wasn;t low enough

Each tire manufacturer has different diameter specs. So not all 245/75/16 have the same overall diameter. As an example, I've been running Cooper Discoverer AT3 4s 235/75/16 for a few years on 19.25" of space, no rubbing even offroading. They're spec'd at 29.7" diameter. Same model of 245/75/16 are spec'd at 30.3" diameter. I don't anticipate any issues going up to that size because I seriously doubt 0.25" radius change will impact anything - nothing's that tight right now. Anything bigger than that might be an issue.

Here's the benefit of sticking with smaller (narrower) tires over the wider ones: reduced mass, less road friction, better traction in snow, more sidewall. Weight of the above cooper tires in 265/70 is 40lbs vs. 245/75 is 35lbs.

I have an 02 liberty sport. No front fender flares or plastic liner. I have bilstein 5100 shocks for 2.5 lift up front with spacer lift in rear 2.5. I'm looking to get 265/75r16 on 16x8 rims I also have 1.5 spacer. This should fit yeah

No , first 265-75-16s are too big for a 2.5 inch lift and especially a spacer lift which may and usually not provide 2.5 inches
Then unless you are regearing its going to cut your fuel mileage, your power , and overall drivability
