I just had the rack and pinion replaced along with the the power steering pump. on my 2002 jeep liberty with 155,000 miles.
Problem is I now have a leak under where the pump and p/s fluid reservoir is located. I took it back to the shop and they can't find where it is leaking. It doesn't leak when the motor is running, it leaks when the car sits overnight. I've crawled under the car and it looks like the reservoir is leaking.Could it be a seal leaking in that area. They told me it would only leak when I was driving. I've not had any leaks on this car until now.Any ideas?

Id personally check the fittings under the reservoir and see if any tightening could be done or pushin a hose to further make the seal, good luck friend!

Did you get new hoses? the issue maybe that you either have a leaky hose or connection or that non mopar orings were used at the connection points.

My guess is non-Mopar o rings or perhaps the high pressure line is tightened enough or the hose clamp for the cooler fitting isn't tight enough.

What brand pump did they use? Some aftermarket ones have a weak (too small) o-ring where the reservoir connects to the pump. I just put a Cardone on mine (had it sitting on the shelf for years) I then decided to put the OE reservoir on it after I had installed it and realized it was leaking from that very spot. Swapped in a beefier O-ring while changing the tank and no more leak... yet.

Also, check the seal under the cap. It's unlikely to be deffective, but there's always a chance. If this seal is bad, you should see oil residue on top of the reservoir.
