'06 Liberty Shaking/Vibration and traction control

My '06 Jeep with 96k miles is starting to act a little funny, and I think I have it narrowed down to needing new tires, but I thought I'd ask this group:

• Driving down the road at ~20 MPH I can feel a slight vibration every second or so (kinda light whump whump barely noticeable)
  
• Driving down the road at 60 MPH the front end is loud and the steering wheel shakes a little. The whole Jeep has this wave-like vibration to it.
  
• Cornering at around 30 MPH the TCS kicks in and I hear a sound like brakes grinding from the front (is worse on sharp right hand turns) front left wheel seems to be the worst offender.
  
• Going up hills, the TCS will kick in randomly resulting in a loss of power
  
• Going down the highway, the TCS will randimly kick in, and it wants to downshift.
  
• Tire pressure is even, and tires are evenly worn. I have like 50k miles on my tires so it's time for new ones.

Besides the tires needing to be replaced, am I having any ****** issues, ABS or TCS issues, or otherwise?

I had vibration at the wheel of my '07 when I bought it, coming in around 60mph and notably more violent when braking. I replaced the rotors and pads on the front - the rotors were not visibly worn, but a lot of corrosion evident on the vanes. Problem solved when this was done. I put it down to corrosion putting them out of balance.

I'll add this: Currently when driving from cold a slight vibration is evident at those speeds, this goes completely after a couple of minutes. I reckon balancing could be the issue - perhaps likewise on yours? New tyres fitted would solve that of course.

On the TCS kicking in, you could temporarily disable the ABS and Traction by pulling the relevant fuse until you fix the vibration - maybe it's related and the ABS sensor is getting upset?. Is the vibration present when it does this?

on your worn tires, are they worn evenly across ie, how is your alignment?, are you lifted?

Has your tire size changed from stock, if so what are they now? Does your speedo read accurately / compare against a GPS, is it higher or lower then indicated?

the TCS / esp/ abs stuff is likely related to the vibration and should likely go away barring you have an issue with your wheel speed senors.

Check engine light at all?

If the fronts are worn a lot more than the rears, that may be why.

When you get 5 new tires,yes don't forget the spare as it's a fullsize spare,get a alignment done.

A bad alignment,along with mis-matched tread depth,is the biggest offender for ESP issues in Jeeps.
