04 renegade wheel paint...

Has anyone painted JUST the alloy lip to match the stock wheel color ("graphite metallic")? I like the factory rims, I just don't like the lip. Is it possible? Thx

Just tape it off

I have not. I did the opposite: I had full alloy wheels and taped off the lip so I can get the same Renegade look. Just sand down the lip and tape off what doesn't need to be painted. The pain in the ass about doing this, though, are that wheel weights are going to be in your way. You can paint them, but when you get re-balanced you're going to have to repaint.

Pull the weigh weights off and then reinstall them after painting, just mark where they were before.

PS - I used Rustoleom graphite-colored paint. Looks like an exact match, and holds up great!
