Two days ago there was a constant relay clicking noise behind my dash about every 5 seconds. Overnight this drained the battery. I charged the battery and reinstalled it now the mystery begins.....
Symptoms
No High beam lights.
High beam indicator on dash stays lit even when vehicle is turned off.
No rear lights (brake lights and turn signals work fine)
Both power front seats quit working (seat heaters still work)
All fuses under the dash are good.

Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Wish I knew the answer..Of course at this point I would also like to scan for any codes.
Is the clicking sound coming from around in the back by the odometer/4 way flasher button or more near the drivers side kick panel?
Ok guys which or is there a relay is back up in there? Will have to dig in FSM here....
Do you have the low beam lights working?
High beam has a relay...I believe is located in the kick panel, worth a try to replace it for starters..should be listed in your owners manual as well.

The clicking seemed to be coming from behind the odometer, but it never did it again once I reinstalled the battery. Low beams are working. Also there is no relay click when I try to switch to high beam, all that happens is lights go off.

Sometimes the fuse looks good & is still blown. Only one way to tell accurately.

Check all the fuses once removed, using a ohms/ conductivity test. New meters /smart meters, will generally beep and read zero if conductivity is good.
Just set VOM to OHM take both lead and put them together to see what happens on your meter. That way you know what to expect when checking fuses.
I have a new meter but prefer this old analog meter set up with alligator clips...It gets used a lot!

How old is your battery & have you had a load & hydrometer test done on it?

Good call on the ohm meter. The #3 fuse under the hood was blown. This only goes to the parking light relay, high beam relay, and the power seats. I pulled the blade breaker to the seats and replaced the fuse and all is good. Now to find the short in the power seat harness.....this should be fun.
Thanks for all the help.

It would be so great to have a full kit and replace all the fuses with ones that illuminate when blown!
Link: ATM, ATC, MAX, ATR and ATL Blade Fuses
No more guessing or need for a VOM !

Such inventions as illuminated fuses put many Auto Electricians out of work...fortunately when I worked in the Mainframe Computer industry fuses with lamps in them or with little flags that popped up when blown were pretty common....saved a lot of time tracing problems down!:icon_lol:

Did you end up finding the short in the power seats?? Both mine have stopped working and I can't find any info on fuses, relays or circuit breakers that are for the seats

What is not working...the movement of the seats or the heating thereof?

For the seat motors there is a circuit breaker called "Circuit Breaker Number 1" which is on the rearside of the internal fuse panel ie. the Junction Block....you have to remove this fuse panel to get to the rearside.

For the heating of the seats there is fuse #25 (10 A) on the internal fuse panel but this may depend on your year model!

If you do not come right, give me your KJ year number and I will post some wiring diagrams or tell you where to find them and guide you through them!
