That's what I figured the groove in the stud was for. And yes the ball joint is very bad and the stud did seem cocked over before I removed the nut. Dang bolt just won't come out and won't even turn .. I tryed heat , penatrant, everything. Also what is with the tab/washer on the bolt head side...

Ya I read that and it does say remove the bolt but it don't budge.

I just put an otis from an unkown vehicle.(just lying on a pile at the wrecker) for $17 CAD. I got an OAT sensor and harness for $2 more. The install was a snap but the trip doesn't work. No biggy as I mostly just wanted the temp and compass. Great write up! Thanks
