At least someone has a sense of humor!
If the jeep has 300k miles and you fix the engine, don't you worry that other stuff is going to go wrong and then become a money pit? I am already seeing that at 100,000 mile mark. Once I fix one thing, something else goes wrong then its more trips to...
But the noise is coming from the passenger side of the jeep. I sat on the lift with the mechanic underneath, we could not replicate the noise but when the wheel was turned all the way to the right it would clunk slightly. I'm wondering if the whole assembly would make that much noise. The...
Ok, we replaced the links completely and my new mechanic and I went through everything and we think we narrowed it down to the rack and pinion... Does that sound right?
Now, is it as easy as removing a bolt and putting it back on? I am going to do this myself and I am not the most handy person. Will it fit together and come apart easily?
I wouldn't do it black but a color more to match the color of the bumper and flairs. I think that would look cool. It is a little more subtle but makes a difference...
It's just starting to make different noises, sounds like something is going in and out of place. Maybe a cracked spring? I really want to avoid buying a new front suspension lift just to see if that would fix it. Are there some better ways to check and see if my krusty's stuff failed on me?
My jeep does that too for as long as I could remember. It's only first thing in the morning and lasts about 25 seconds, sounds like maybe a small ball is being shook around in the engine. Faint but noticeable
I've been battling with my front end making noises, I have tried everything but replacing the front springs and struts. I bought the rusty's set years ago and just replaced the rear shocks with Durango shocks and left the springs. I don't want to redo anything on the back of the jeep so what do...
Okay, the back shocks went quick. So what struts are supported with the 2.5" lift? The Durango shocks work (should have gotten a better brand, the jeep drives like the S.S. Liberty) but I don't know about the front struts
I like that the power stays on the the adapter, my phone will still charge after I shut off the car.
My jeep doesn't start sometimes, getting a new battery does the trick every time. In Florida I have to get a new one every 18 months.
Ok, my mechanic threw in the towel. After 3 days of on and off work he said enough.
There is what it is not
-Sway bars and links (Still pops when they are off)
-Strut housing or where ever the strut connects to the Jeep
-Upper and lower ball joints
-Upper control arm or lower control arm
-Swing...
My mechanic said he could not replicate the noise on the lift, but its not me doing it. I would try it but I lack the friends or the jack. I'm just hoping its safe since I have been driving it, gingerly of course. I'm going to leave it with him Wednesday and see if he can find it, I just hope if...
It's a $25k corolla, it's an xrs that is loaded with everything. Basically what I am saying is that I have a nice car that I want to keep nice, the jeep I have just to have. I commute 50 miles to and from work and to corporate office which is another 30 miles away once in a while. While the jeep...
Steering is very tight, the stretching sound isn't power steering, I know what that sounds like. Its like a metallic creaking\stretching sound coming from the same spot. It sounds like it is coming from the top of the strut but that was checked.
