Getting a new PCM installed. I have a quick question.

A local dealership will be installing a new PCM in a few days. I'm curious, once it's installed, about how many miles does my KJ have to be driven in order for the PCM to run through all the engine checks it normally does? Thanks in advance for your help.

What do you make of this problem??

I agree that I shouldn't have waited so long (but since the initial code was AC-related and the AC was working fine, I didn't think anything of it.) I really do appreciate your help.

What do you make of this problem??

Do you know if a dealership has the capability of running a test that will enable them to pinpoint the exact problem? In other words, can a test tell them if the ECU needs to be replaced or if it's the signals that are bad? Something I should have mentioned earlier is that back in '09 I took...

What do you make of this problem??

My check engine light’s been on for a good year. A month after it came on, I took my KJ to Auto Zone for a quick check. I don’t recall the error code but I think it had something to do with a relay for the AC. Since the AC was working fine, I blew it off. A couple months later I drove by another...

Has anybody bought a window regulator repair kit off this eBay seller?

The price is only $28 and he's got 100% positive feedback. I've heard good things about the Steiger Performance window regulator repair kit but it costs three times as much (i.e. $90). 02-07 JEEP LIBERTY WINDOW REGULATOR REPAIR KIT LEFT REAR | eBay

Replacing the weatherstripping around the sunroof

Does anybody know the answers to the following? 1) Can I buy just the weatherstripping that goes around the sunroof? 2) If so, can it be replaced without removing the sunroof? 3) Where can I find an online parts fiche for the KJ?

    Removing the Door Panel

He's right in that there are many snaps around the perimeter of the interior door panel. I have a special tool I bought at Auto Zone (for $9) that is specifically designed for removing these panels. I recently had all four of my panels and off and didn't break a single snap. In my opinion...

Can somebody please post a pic of where the evaporative canister is?

I'm fairly certain I checked all the hoses going in and out of it but I'll check again tomorrow. I hope it's just the fuel cap because I don't need another expense right now.

Can somebody please post a pic of where the evaporative canister is?

Thanks. I just got a P0455 code and one of the things it said to check was the evap canister. I checked everything around the fuel tank and everything looked fine. As for the fuel cap, I replaced it two weeks ago because I got a P0455 code then, too. I replaced the fuel cap the check...

    Post pics of your GPS!

If you get a Garmin or TomTom, don't you have to go to their web site and pay a fee to download the latest maps? I thought I heard somebody say that once. According to WalMart.com, the Garmin nuvi 1300 4.3" GPS Navigator is their best seller. The online price is $117 and was originally...

    Post pics of your GPS!

It looks like they can be charged but the charge only lasts for about four hours. More importantly, I'm getting the impression that sales of these will probably go down for a couple of reasons: 1) More and more cars are coming with a built-in GPS system 2) More and more people are buying...

    Post pics of your GPS!

Strictly out of curiosity, I was looking up prices on GPS systems and had no idea even name brands like Garmin and TomTom were selling for as little as $80 brand new. How many of you were able to mount one onto your dash and make it look at least somewhat stock? I've seen cars whose GPS system...

Best differential for mostly on road/snow use

I've been meaning to ask this question for some time: What exactly is a locker? Is it the same as posi-trac? Say you've got a rear wheel drive truck whose differential has posi-trac. Wouldn't that mean that power is going to both rear wheels in equal amounts at all times? Can a locker be...

Please help me with this troubleshooting code!

Yesterday the Check Engine light came on again (it had been off for some time.) I figured now was the time to replace the throttle position sensor (TPS). The torx bolts holding the old TPS in place were a little difficult to remove but I did get them out. The breather hose going into the air...

My stock speakers are crackling. Please help!

OK, since at some point down the line I'd like to replace my entire stereo system with a nice aftermarket one, I decided to fix this the least expensive way possible: I removed the rear speakers (which weren't crackling) and installed them up front. I had to snip the wires going to the rear...

My stock speakers are crackling. Please help!

I plan on keeping my stock stereo unit; consequently, I don't think nice aftermarket speakers would do me much good. Right now I just want to listen to music again without crackling coming from the front speakers. Getting my existing ones refurbished would also mean I wouldn't have to mount...

My stock speakers are crackling. Please help!

I'm curious, why is it only my front speakers are crackling? The tweeters and rear speakers seem fine. Also, doesn't it seem odd that both front speakers started crackling at the same time?

My stock speakers are crackling. Please help!

A possibility is to zip-tie the amps onto the aftermarket speakers. The guy at Best Buy said he's seen that done. I believe somebody else here mentioned it, too. I found this on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p2761.l1259&item=270657534210&viewitem=...
