Heck, my girlfriend's 2006 Liberty's trans shifts much better than my 2007's. The only key difference is the addition of electronic "drive by wire" throttle control. I agree the 02 trans is a much better transmission.

Search here and the LOST board. I believe you turn the key on and leave it for like 15 or 20 seconds, depress the throttle (not missile-fast, but not super slow either) to the floor and back up ONCE (some people say twice, but I heard once is the correct way), and turn the key back off...
