I always kind of liked the bug deflector. We had one on our KJ and liked it. Someone has to be the voice of dissension...especially since I don't have a KJ anymore. LOL

The WP I bought had the pulley...no need to take anything else apart. If I could swap out a water pump successfully, anyone can. :)

The car I test drove was red, but didn't have leather. Our KJ was red too, but I absolutely love a black car. Nothing looks better (IMHO) then a clean, shiny black vehicle.

Just the 2.5 in the Jetta and a auto. Our first 5 cylinder engine.

I agree with you on the V-Dub...in fact that's how I got the KJ. It was originally my wife's car so we traded in my Dakota, I took the KJ, and she got a brand new Jetta. We absolutely love the thing...it's our 7/8th scale luxury car.

I should check the idler pulley too...I did remove it to do the water pump...maybe I scewed something up?

I'm not buying the winter/summer gas thing. It's the middle of June already. It just seems like a weird coincedence that the MPG improved right after the water pump. Oh well.

Just wanted to toss this out there...but since I replaced the water pump on the KJ, the gas mileage has gone up about 2MPG. I haven't seen any better than 16 and change for quite some time. Since the water pump, I'm getting 18 in town and 19+ with some highway mixed in there. I haven't seen...

I hate to dig up an old thread, but does anyone have a pic of the anti-rattle clips? I have the same annoying "squeak squeak squeak squeak" coming from my 04. I'll double check the studs, but since I'm the only person to take the wheels off on and the KJ, I doubt my puny muscles overtorqued...
