    Towing Question

Thanks! I have a Hopkins 42475 harness that plugs into the passenger side tail lamp assembly. We tend to travel as light as possible and the travel trailer we're looking at has storage in the front underbelly. mrlavalamp, do you have any sort of anti-sway or weight distribution set up on...

    Towing Question

I've searched the board and Google but haven't been able to find an answer. We're looking at getting an ultra light travel trailer (17', under 2000 lbs) to pull behind my 04 KJ V6 AT. I have the factory hitch, installed by the dealership as part of the gas tank "fix". Is this something the...

    Drive train ticking

It was chilly this morning, so with the windows up, it does kind of sound like it's in the dash. I'll check that connection whenever I get around to changing the 02 sensors. Thx for the tip!

    Drive train ticking

It sounds more like it's under my feet. I know there is a leak near the muffler as well. I think it's time to just replace the whole system.

    Drive train ticking

I think it's an exhaust leak. More Googling turned up similar threads on other forums.

    Drive train ticking

No change with turning and no clunking or popping from the CVs when turning. I checked the front and rear driveshafts, no play in them. However, I did notice a leak at the pinion seal on the front diff. But no spots on my driveway, so either it isn't that bad or maybe only leaking at speed...

    Drive train ticking

My KJ has a tick somewhere in the front, I believe from the drive train. It does increase with speed but goes away when I shift into neutral, which explains why I never heard it while manually reving the engine at the TB. Besides checking the driveshafts, is there anything else I should...

Just joined the forum recently. I bought an 04 with 139k on the clock, hoping with proper maintenance she'll make it to 250k!

    newest new guy!

Thanks! I'll check it out! My previous vehicle was a 2005 Honda Element with 240k miles and was going strong when I sold it. I'd love for the Liberty to make it to that milestone.

I have some mods planned but I'm not sure how how much I want to throw at it since it has 139k miles.

My KJ is going in for the trailer hitch and rear control arm recalls on the 11th! After owning this for almost a week, it's really starting to grow on me, I think my money was well spent!

    tail light stud bushing

My new-to-me KJ needs a new tail light, which is on order. However I noticed the little bushings for the housing studs, are either gone or were pushed back into the body panel when the tail light got smashed. Does anyone have a part number or even a source for these outside the dealership...

    newest new guy!

Hi everyone! I'm picking up a cheap high mileage 04 Liberty Sport as a beater to keep my budget small while we pay off debt. I've had a few Jeeps in the past (86 CJ7, 88 Cherokee, and a 93 Wrangler), so I guess this is a return for me! Do you know if dealerships are still required to...
