I did not mean a brand new car. This ones got some front end damage from someone backing into the previous owner, and what not. Wife seems to think she still wants another KJ so I'll be looking for another one around 2k bucks if I can find one. Hopefully this one will be in better shape though lol.
Well the other day was out getting groceries and after I got them loaded in the car and pulled off heard a knocking noise above 3k rpms. Pulled over to check it out and was definitely coming from inside the engine.....sad days.
Going to throw it up on CL for $500 bucks probably and end of the...
Well in case anyone is ever wondering, the thread/pitch on the inner tie rod is 16mm 1.5 pitch. Napa didn't have that nuts size, but a local place called Handymans Hardware did.
Anyone have any idea what the thread/pitch is of the inner tie rods? The lock nut that locks the tie rod on won't come off my old rack so I need to purchase some new ones.
Ok, that's kind of what I was guessing lol.
Also what do you guys think is the best grease to use in these aftermarket tie rod ends? I got the Napa ones and they have grease nipples on them. Gotta get a grease gun now lol, going out to Summit racing monday to grab some brakes and a few more...
I wish the pics worked! I'm a bit confused on weather you need a special tool or not for the tie rod ends to come off? I ordered new tie rod ends so I don't really care about the ones on there.
So wife said steering was hard to use, found out no fluid. I put some in and found out the driver side seal on the steering rack was blown :( Ordered a rebuilt unit and some new tie rod ends, not going to be fun though.
Where'd you get your kit? From ebay? or elsewhere?
Only thing that sucks about using something like that is I'm not sure there's a way to make the other lights blue/red to match. Like the overhead and the shifter column, etc.
You can build a mounting ring out of MDF. I doubt you'll have much issue doing it that way. You can look on youtube for a video on how to make a mounting ring, you can also make them from like HDPE cutting boards and what not if you don't like MDF.
Also the existing amp shouldn't be attached to...
You know we had a Ford sedan...forget the name it was the one before the Taurus came out I think. Anyways my mom was driving it and parked it at our house and it caught on fire right in the driveway. Of course it had just been worked on, and of course the shop that worked on it swore they didn't...
I recently was pulling those handles at a pull a part and found that there were 3 different types of screws, some had phillips, some had hex head bolts, and some had the torx.
Drove by a truck that was sitting at a 4 way on rt 82 the other day and he had one on. I couldn't see anything around me as I passed him. Didn't look like it threw very far really but it sure does blind a person.
You should drive a Chevy spark if you think the kj ride quality sucks lol. Honestly the kj drives a lot better than I thought it would when I bought it. I just finished 1400 miles on mine for vacation.
Wish I could get 30mpg even trying would be nice lol. Over the last week I drove to Virginia Beach where we are staying for the week for vacation. Was happy my Jeep made it without issue although I only averaged about 21mpg, granted it is pretty hilly all the way here. Maybe I need to look into...
Yeah, I figured it was the speed sensor though because I could turn cruise control on but it just kept going higher then lower etc. Plus I had the speedo issues anyways.
