Yep thats what I though too.
Guy got under there with his mechanic stethoscope and determined that the noise was coming from the tran lines all the way to the cooler.
Maybe they suspected a damaged/clogged line or something causing strain on pump? Im not 100% sure, I was going to ask him when...
So I just got the Jeep back from the mechanic and turns out the noise was caused by the transmission cooler...There was a loud squeak coming from the transmission but it turns out it was coming from the cooler lines. The first mechanic said torque converter or trans pump and was talking $1000...
Thanks Pro! now i know...Jeep is in shop right now, They suspect the noise is coming from my lines...something about transmission cooler lines or something (Just overheard them talking) it may be there a while since they were busy but i will post update.

Hey all, got a 05 jeep liberty sport 3.7l, been having a loud squeak/whine coming from the transmission for about a week now...took it to the shop yesterday and he says it could be transmission pump or torque converter, but that he is stumped because its shifts perfectly fine, the fluid is...
I seen a newer style grand prix going 55+ rear end a liberty outside my house one night...the guys hitch bent inward and it dented his tank a little but nothing too crazy, but the grand prix was completely smashed up in the front. Made me feel slightly safer in my jeep.
Sorry it took so long to get back but I went out and held the gas pedal to the floor while cranking and finally got it to start...I added some Heet after that and its been starting right up every day now (although it has been warmer out). Fingers crossed I dont have this issue again!
Hey all! 2005 Jeep Liberty 3.7l here, Jeep wont start in this cold Michigan winter...seems to start up decent when its above 32 degrees anything under that and it just wont fire up. I decided to replace my old battery yesterday and it started right up and I did a lot of errands and I had no...
05 liberty 3.7, Sorry no pic yet but the 2 small metal tubes that run right behind your oil plug area, they have a black clip holding them together....what are they for and is it bad that the clip on mine fell off and they are hanging a little low? Thanks in advance!
Well it is not as bad as i thought, it is the AC compressor seizing up, off to get a bypass pully....no AC for me! I feel dumb now, i looked all around under the hood and the problem was right in my face the whole time lol
So just got an oil change on my 2005 jeep liberty 3.7, all of a sudden i hear a knock from the engine area. It is like every 5 seconds or so I hear this knock (only can hear if by a building or with hood up) and it sounds like the engine is losing power, almost like when the fan kicks on but...
This is probably a dumb question but i was checking fluids and things under the hood today when my arm bumped against this black thing that is located directly behind the windshield washer fluid cap and connected to a metal tube on my 05 jeep liberty and it was loose (not sure if because i...
So i recently replaced my sway bar links on my 05 jeep liberty and when replacing i noticed that the driver side one was in a different direction than the other
I installed the new ones where the bottom bulge points towards the front of the vehicle like in this video...
Thanks for the responses....I have not replaced the clevis bushing on the lower control arm. I will take a good look at it tomorrow and tackle that project soon and see what happens!
So after replacing struts wheel bearing tie rod sway bar bushings sway bar end links pretty much everything except ball joints/arms, i still have a clunk on the passenger side of my 05 jeep liberty limited 3.7 4wd
My ball joints arms and bushings have been inspected a few times and they look...
