    Ginormous air conditioning leak

Thanks for the list. I'm seeing the rental tools at a place down the street. I'm gonna gather the parts and will report back. Quick question. Is this the correct part from rockauto... low side line (left hand drive compressor to evaporator)

    Ginormous air conditioning leak

Great to hear. I suspect replacing all the seals makes sense given the work I'm already going to be doing. I think I'll try to find a friend to borrow gauges and vacuum pump from. Anything else I should test/replace while I'm in there? Honestly not sure how many more years this baby has left...

    Ginormous air conditioning leak

Ok great. Yes there is a huge mess where I'm hearing the leak. All the hoses are covered in oily residue. I'm gonna try again when I get some free time. I'm somewhat concerned it's leaking in a few places. Maybe its just seals. Thanks for the advice about the accumulator! Makes a lot of sense...

    Ginormous air conditioning leak

Hey friends I've got a Ginormous air con leak. Backstory - ac clutch was not engaging, tested voltage at the sensor, it read 12v, jumped the pins at the fuse and sure enough the clutch engaged. I put the diy R134A can on the low pressure port and began filling. As soon as it went in, out it...

    my 2005 liberty wont start

Thanks Bill - I replaced both of these sensors a few years back but it's possible I need to replace again. This sounds like the most likely situation as it only happens when the engine is already hot from 30 mins of driving and has only been off for 5-10mins. Never had this issue or any other...

    my 2005 liberty wont start

Was there ever a solution for this problem? My 04 liberty with about 165k does this sometimes. A few times in the last month. I drive about 30mins on the hwy, stop to pickup my son and when I try to restart it turns over but but won't run. Sometimes I'll try cranking 10 times and finally get...

Valve cover bolt droped into the abyss

Well I looked and looked for hours with a flashlight, mirror, extendable magnet - no luck. Been driving it around since without any problems. Havent checked the oil since but no oil sensor showing like before I changed the gaskets. Im left to assume if you drop a valve cover bolt into the...

Valve cover bolt droped into the abyss

Well ive gone and droped a valve cover bolt while changing the drivers side. Looked for hours last night. Called the dealer and they say the only way to get one is buying the $150 cover with all the bolts. So what to do....just buy a regular bolt without the fancy metal insert grommet...

Did they have any performance issues when just throwing the p0300?

'04 Stalled twice today, 4 codes thrown - crank and cam sensors but I just replaced

I cleaned out the IAC and seems to have smoothed the idle a little but still got a p0300 thrown. That's the only one being thrown. I can't imagine it's coil packs or plugs because it has never thrown a specific cylinder code. I checked around for vacuum leaks, couldn't find anything. I...

'04 Stalled twice today, 4 codes thrown - crank and cam sensors but I just replaced

I cant imagine either of mine were 3/32 crooked although its hard to see the cam sensor and its not so tight in its hole so it might have been that. Driving around today everything seems fine. Now i just gotta figure out the rough idle and what seems to be a sometimes sluggish transmission.

'04 Stalled twice today, 4 codes thrown - crank and cam sensors but I just replaced

Mark that makes sense. I put the new sensors in last night and the way they fit/mount doesnt inspire confidence that they are perfectly flush or seated properly. That could easily have been my issue. The cam sensor just slid into the hole no problem but the crank sensor is the one that seemed...

'04 Stalled twice today, 4 codes thrown - crank and cam sensors but I just replaced

Great, i just stalled at a light with same codes minus evap one which was obviously gas cap off. That really confirms it in my mind. Thank god ive got the mopar sensors due to arrive today. Gonna put them in tonight, lets hope i dont have as much trouble getting the camshaft sensor out as i...

'04 Stalled twice today, 4 codes thrown - crank and cam sensors but I just replaced

So I stalled going down a very steep hill a couple hours ago. Right when the car stalled the check engine light came on along with the oil light for a brief few seconds then the oil light disappeared but the CEL was still on. I got these codes: P0442 Evap Leak P0300 random misfire...

crankshaft position sensor - you gotta be kidding me

Yeah definitely that and corrosion from 8 years when it lived in Michigan. I could feel a lip with my finger just about behind where the gasket sits inside the bore. I will say however I think this sensor replacement in combination with replacing the cam position sensor has fixed my...

crankshaft position sensor - you gotta be kidding me

SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!! Well I got it out. Turns out the sensor is too big for the hole. That makes sense. Anyhow I've attached a picture for fun. I didn't end up needing a right angle drill for anyone wondering. If you don't have one I think you would be okay. The screw it's attached too...
