    Mystery solved..., dealer/tech adds an additive (clear/thin) that supposedly supports seal elasticity when xmissions have over 100K. Guess it hadn’t ‘settled in’ until I logged several hundred miles. All appears ‘normal’ now. Thanks for the input.

    Yeah Dave, thanks. But we (Jeep dealer and me) know that. Kinda etched in stone for Jeep ppl lol! Only this dealership tech (and myself) have serviced this KJ for 180K. All fluids always look as fresh as if just changed... and I tow a jet ski almost 10K every year. I doubt they would have made...

    Transmission Light on, auto not changing gear

    I believe the 42RLE goes into a sorta 'limp mode' if the trans temp goes too high (like in the sand lol). When this happens the light comes on and it will downshift and remain in a lower gear to increase circulation of the trans fluid. I think it stays like that until the trans temp goes down...

    Coolant temp under heavy load & hi OAT

    Under normal conditions (no heavy load, no extreme outside air temps) my scan gauge shows coolant temp to normally be ~204*. Towing a jet ski (~1300# ttl weight incl trlr) up a steep grade (6%) in ~90* outside air temps scan gauge will usually show coolant temp rising to ~210* to 215*...

    Cupping.

    We might add wheel(s) outa balance to that list also right? I'm not sure I understand how over-inflation can cause cupping though. I do know it can/will cause the center part of your tread to ware more rapidly, but 'cupping'?? 'Splain that to me please..... thx.

    My dealership is using 5W-20 for Jeep oil changes. Anyone have any comments/opinions. Prefer to do my own oil changes but had a time crunch issue. I always use Castrol GTX 5W-30 myself.

    Same issue. '05 Rennie 4X4. Did OME lift & went to 245/75R16s from the OEM 235/70R16s. 235/70s run ~720 revs/mi. 245/75s run ~686 revs/mi.
