    Fiat Threatens To End Negotiations

And the plot thickens. News sources are saying Fiat wants to buy out Opel, which is currently owned by General Motors. Based on the enthusiasm with which Fiat is approaching this Opel deal, I'm thinking one of two things could happen. 1.) Fiat purchases Opel and Chrysler, becoming one of the...

    Herculine the Chrome!

x2. That sounds like the more reasonable route. I'm also in college and understand where you are coming from, but at least go with the Cragars. I think Herculiner would raise some serious issues beyond simply painting it. First, it would make them much heavier and I also would bet it would be...

in the market for a kj

Wasn't there also a change in the type of cooling fan used? I'm not positive but I seem to remember there being a discussion related to problems in newer KJ models. Btw, to the OP, not trying to scare you away from the Jeep, many of us on here, including myself, have been very happy with the...

Review: Chemical Guys Natural Shine Pleasant Matt Shine Dressing

I just had this stuff delivered to my house after looking for a more muted type of tire dressing. After going to many car shows and examining the work of many extremely high-end automotive detailers, I noticed that their vehicles all did not have extremely glossy, reflective tires that are...

Thanks for mentioning that! I forgot. I just had to replace a window regulator for the first time in my 02 and the replacement already appears to be making some noise. There are some people who have had zero issues with the regulators, but it seems the majority of us on here have run into this...

    recommend car wax?

Ok. Just a quick warning. I've been doing more research. It appears that a "cleaner wax" in its simplest form and by definition is simply meant to clean the surface of contaminants before waxing. That alone should not affect the clear coat, since, in my opinion, that sounds like the intention of...

Chrysler Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

It honestly sounds like the best option for Chrysler. They are not going into liquidation so they are not "going under." It is much like the airlines a few years back that filed Chapter 11. Personally, I'm optimistic to see what Fiat can bring to the table for the U.S. market.

It depends on what you are looking for. The 2002 models sit nearly 1" taller since Jeep lowered them after a magazine rolled it. The 02 also has a tougher transmission sourced out of the Dakota (45RFE), where the newer models have the 42RLE. Finally, older models have disc drakes front and drums...

    KJ pet peeves

Moderator Warning Ok, while there are a few good posts in this thread, the personal attacks, flaming, and bashing of others' choices in vehicles needs to stop. Otherwise, this will be locked and infractions handed out to those who are repeatedly offending.

    recommend car wax?

As long as it is a non-abrasive cleaner wax, such as the Meguiar's, it should not have anywhere near the strength to diminish clear coat. That being said, I am still slightly confused to the purpose of cleaner wax. I do not understand how one $5 product can remove contaminants and provide...

    recommend car wax?

What cleaner wax are we talking about? If it is "Ice" type stuff, I'm inclined to say it is not harsh enough to even touch clear coat if applied correctly, but I want to be sure we are talking the same thing.....

HOW TO: Replace dead instrument cluster lights

Mine shows the 10-04839738AA that was posted before. However, when the computer ran the part number, it mentioned that I needed PC74 bulbs. Then, in the owner's manual, it shows bulb "103" for "instrument cluster replacement." So, it is indeed the 04839738AA that is listed previously, despite...

HOW TO: Replace dead instrument cluster lights

Just had to say thanks for posting this write-up. Just came in from the garage and it was very easy other than getting the wrong light bulbs (double check the part #'s!). Saved at least $200 from having the dealer do it.

The simplest + cheapest cleaning materials

Walmart TurtleWax is cheap, but, remember, you get what you pay for. Plus, the technology used in automotive paint has changed drastically since the 1960's.

    My Saturday

Thanks for the compliments guys. As Marlon already responded (), yeah, there was a lot of orange peel. You can't tell it really because I downsized the photos, but it was very obvious looking at the side panels. Minor complaint to have about to something that will run to 60 in under 5...

    My Saturday

I just wanted to post up pictures of what I spent my Saturday doing. I did a full detail (clay bar, 2 types of polish, and 2 coats of wax) on a Jeep SRT8 that belongs to a good buddy of mine. Awesome vehicle. Brembos, 6.1L Hemi, AWD, dual exhaust, Goodyear Z-Rated tires, all the good stuff. Not...
