I have had Rancho and Bilstein on my front shocks. I prefer the Bilstein, and they just look to be an overall better build quality than the Ranchos. But many have put over 100k miles on the Ranchos with not a single issue. Just boils down to personal preference really. Both are a huge...
Well, since it is so common, I figured I would see what i can do to come up with something a little less expensive. So here is what I have. ABS rear Spring Spacer to use instead of extra isos for leveling when you lift. Most people add 2 isos per side (1" additional lift) in addition to OME...
The angle on my pics does not show the deep dish as much as they actually are. They are the same wheels though. Came off an 05 TJ Rubi. And yeah, the tires are kinda wimpy - too skinny for my taste, but can't beat the price. But I am saving up and planning to buy some 265/75/16 Treadwright...
Just run an ad in the local craigslist and tell them you want to be just like tommudd and post this pic...
(Sorry Tom for not asking permission before swiping your photo. It was just the first one I found the day I was posting to CL. Hopefully it won't cost me too much in royalties. ;)...
They are working pretty good so far. I have actually gone thru a few iterations before I got a good stable design. I think I have a design that others could make out of HDPE bar stock if you have access to a lathe and a drill press. I think the HDPE would be more wear resistant than the ABS...
I would be happy to share my design for extending stock UCA's. I have gone through several iterations now and know what will work and where the weak points are. I have even been thinking about how others could make them easily out of HDPE bar stock.
Update... Problem solved. Strange reason for error lights. I had gotten an alignment at Firestone about a month ago. Over last weekend, my KJ started pulling to the right pretty bad. (I did not link this to the ESP/BAS error at the time) Anyway, Monday AM, I took my KJ back in to Firestone...
Bump. Anyone?
Took it to AutoZone and they read codes. No codes. Checked all of the wheel speed sensor wires from each wheel all the way to main harness. All wires look good. I guess it may be time to use that unlimited month/mileage bumper-to-bumper that they gave me as incentive to buy...
Help. I was just driving to pick up some BBQ this evening. 2 miles down the road, driving straight at 40 MPH. All of the sudden, I get a warning bell. Look down and see the ESP/BAS light and the Traction light on. I looked in the manual, and it says if the lights stay on after a few engine...
Smoking deal on these at the local Sears. $65 each. Went by and looked at them and compared them side by side to a BFG AT 31x10.50. LT265/75R15 in this tire looked to be almost an inch taller than the BFG, and about an inch narrower actual tread. I know the section widths are about the same...
