Good info, thanks! However, I can guarantee that the little old lady I bought it off had no plans to lift it. Pretty sure it never even saw gravel, let alone a 4wheelin trail, given its condition - not even a rock chip. I'm guessing she took it to a drivetrain shop to get the CV joint fixed and...- Shankster

I have about a 2.5" OME lift and I'm running 245/75-16s with the stock 3.73 gearing. I don't doubt it would be better with the 4.11 gears but that would be a big cost commitment I'm not willing to make right now. I don't notice much difference in drivability when I'm on my 225/75-16 snow tires...- Shankster

What size are the Ring Gear bolts on the Dana 30 Super in my 2002?
Just to close out this thread in case anyone else needs the info. My ring gear bolts are 3/8". Sadly, the P/N 701071 NOS Dana Spicer bolts I got off ebay that I thought were 3/8" are actually 7/16". I'll just reuse my old ring gear bolts. I don't know if some Libertys have 7/16" but my mid-year...- Shankster

Yep, my bad, 70-90 lbs/ft per the 02 manual - that's what I get for googling. Still seems a lot. I'll use whatever holes give the proper snug fit. I just went ahead and got some 3/8" bolts off eBay - they're NOS Spicer so quality should be fine. I read somewhere that the Dana 30 upgraded from 3/8" to 7/16" bolts some time around 2000 but who knows if that applied to the 30A or not, and if so when? 3/8" seems small for that amount of torque...- Shankster

Help diagnose a clunk
I had a similar clunk when letting off the gas when my rear diff went bad. I narrowed in on the source by crawling around in back as my wife drove. Those clunks can be hard to pinpoint from the driver's seat as things resonate around the car or along the driveshaft.- Shankster

I checked the toe again using a different method - it is spot on. I can straighten my steering wheel myself. From my experience you should go with the JBA or RRO upper front control arms.
