Yeah we have a lot of mountains in BC. I hear the odd subaru rolling around the city with studs in the winter. Not really necessary in this part of the province. Its frustrating when I hear people driving in the summer time with studs....... ******* idiots.
I have family in PA. Used them to get studs for Bert's winter wheels. Will do the same for Khan in the near future. Rarely get winter precip in Omaha these days, but when we do it is a sheet of rock hard ice that stays for weeks.

Absolutely! When did you last see something with multi-LED 3rd brake lights , much over a year old with them all working? It was such a problem with Cadillac Sevilles (huge almost the full width of the trunk lid) that a company sprung up providing reconditioned ones on an exchange basis - wouldn't be surprised if there weren't more of them now.

AS for the original question, nothing: rain stopped play (yes, I know it's a cricketing expression, but the meaning must be clear) - again! However, when I moved it last evening to get the back wheel by the dropped kerb (nope, sorry, can't translate that into 'Mer'can) to make it easier to remove, the awful noise in reverse that developed on Christmas Eve had gone, confirming my suspicion problem is with the caliper &/or brake flexi (soft line). Better luck tomorrow.

Happy New Year

I got myself a Milwaukee Packout stack for my work tools (the year-end promos made it worth the buy). As excited as I am, I have to remove the rear shelf to fit the lower portion, and I’m not crazy about that. I could build a new shelf with a cut out for the handle and adapter plates to lock pieces down with.

Agree that they would look great on a KJ if they clear the calipers! I have read over the years that some styles of XJ 15’s fit and some don’t.

Took one of our cats to the vet for cremation. :(

It was not unexpected. She had a very long life (almost twenty years) and lived it on her terms from start to finish. Despite her independence she was a sweet loving friend. She died in her sleep last night at home in front of a cheery fire. I hope when I go it is like that.

She was the tabby on the left. The black cat and my dog Roscoe are grieving as well. The picture is from a few years ago.

Roscoe does not trust cameras which is why he is looking at me like that.

I installed a new 45Watt Quick Charger for the cell phone & laptop & auxiliary work lights for better visibility when I tow the trailer or backing up on trails or in dark parking lots.

I placed an on-off-on ( I-O-II ) switch to the left of the heater controls & a 30watt relay to the left of the tire jack.

Aux & B/U Lights @ 35’.

The aux lights are good for ~35’ behind & ~10’ to the sides.

we lost one of our cats on 12/09. Renal failure. 2022 he was hospitialized for a couple weeks after dental surgery. complications to the pain meds given to him. in November 2023 he started looking a bit ill, and the tests came back bad news on his kidneys again. We tried for a month to get him through it, and he fought hard, but on the 9th we could tell he was just in a really bad way, so we did the right thing by him,

He loved to sit in front of the fire all the time. We were running it non-stop for him all through November.
He came to us as a stray one day in 2021. He was clearly someone's cat, and i'm now pretty confident he was dumped due to some other health issues he had, which we took care of. His time with us was short, but loved.

I bred Burmese cats at home for many years....had to put my last 2 down about 3 years ago as they were nearly 20 years old and tired.

I live now in a Retirement Village, so no cats allowed!

Miss them like crazy! :(

Been eyeballing this for a while. Cleanest spare tire delete I have found. Integrated third brake light (required by law), top plate bolts are plate illumination LEDs ( also required by law), and sequential turn signal. also space for accessory lights and antennas. ultra fair pricing, plus 15% off for veterans. All aluminum, though hardware is standard grade 8. I’ll be using anodized black stainless for hardware and will anodize the sheet metal. Then a few coats of Bright White Crystal (code PW7) and things will be looking sharp!

The rear camera mount is an option as are the accessories adapters.

Bet this could easily be adapted to KJ/KK

Have been in communication with Cascadia 4x4 about their VSS solar trickle charge system for Jeep JL for last week or so.

A few things I have learned:
C4x4 has amazing customer service!
All my inquiries were quickly responded to by David Loretto, president and co-founder.
The VSS system IS compatible with the dual battery system, is pre programmed for AGMs, gel, and lead-acid batteries and I have determined it will in fact work with a Liberty!
So, for those of you wondering, the Jeep JL system will fit perfectly on both KK. For KJ, flat hood is best, but one could add a little extra 3M tape to deal with the hood's stupid center channel.
Entire system is plug and play.

Just heard from wifey that she hit a red-tailed hawk head on at 80mph out on I80. Shockingly there is no damage to Khan after a Facetimed inspection.

So, I sent the following to her phone:

xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media

Trekkies get it.

Discovered an interesting cost-saver thing for assorted tchochkes and such. You know that over-priced Made in China stuff we all buy on Amazon? Turns out you can actually get the exact same junk on Temu for less. scored a pair of Wrangler stainless steel hood latches that sell for 80-100$ on Scamazon for 20$. same junk way better price. free shipping right now too.

Yeah, I'm of the Made in the USA generation, but deep down we all know most everything is made overseas these days, even the "Made in USA" stickers they slap on to meet minimum requirements for the status.

Gen X: Dour, cheap, and appreciative of irony.
