Took me awhile to get back to this thread, but you're welcome. This site and the L.O.S.T. site are excellent resources. Thanks to everyone that has posted mods, installs, etc. I'd be lost without the info.

You would have to on an '06. I assume an '05 would be similar. Actually, you remove the plastic bumper cover. Following is part of how I installed my front shackles with how you remove the grill and bumper, etc. pop hood and release clips at top of front grill, starting at headlights...

go to wikipedia and search "jeep liberty". good info on "package" options (sport, limited, etc.).

Here's a picture of that plug being used to run my cb wires. Very handy.
