Everything was clean, no pitting, wondering if it's possible that I just didn't seat the gasket properly. A friend and I are gonna be pulling it back apart in a few days to see.

Brand new head bolts, everything. Torqued to specs in FSM. Think it was 20 ft-lbs, then 90*, the another 90*, in sequence each time. Did it all step by step by FSM.

Well lets try this. I see the leak coming from the inside of the bellhousing but I also noticed what is in the photo. Did I just build up some water inside the muffler while the head gasket was blown? Good God I hope so. I am about ready to actually drive the thing.

Leaking coolant that apparently is coming from behind the bellhousing, per my stepson, cuz I can't get my fat ass under there to really see if for myself. Guess I blew out a freeze plug. Going to put it in the shop ina few minutes so I can get it off the ground in a bit and start work tomorrow...

Appears to be coming from INSIDE the bellhousing, so guess I am looking at freeze plugs. Lucky me. Get it in the shop tomorrow.
