Parking brake adjustment on KJ - EASY

I usually (and have with all my Mopars) done it free-wheeling (Neutral) so there is no bogging-down effect of the ******.

Parking brake adjustment on KJ - EASY

The brakes on the KJ are super easy to manage and erroneously maligned. The emergency brake is more than adequate and the self adjuster does work. If work is done, adjust until it is near enough only. THEN: Find a place where you can roll backwards slowly and safely. Roll backwards...

KJ completely dead out of the blue?

You could have a look at fuse # 28 and ISO relay #30...both Starter (Power distribution centre)).

KJ completely dead out of the blue?

Agree with battery prognosis - not enough juice. Lancer also had his stop in mid travel recently - battery was defintely on the out as well as a 15A fuse but I don't know exactly which one. Perhaps a PM to him may confirm which fuse. The battery and the fuse went out together.

    Map sensor cleaning

Frankly, I think its hard to go past good old ether.:yawn::yawn: A bit too hard to get hold of now.

    Map sensor cleaning

Just to clarify: I went over to Lost to have a look and in the setail view of the engine bay, the item that has 4 arrows to it (blue label) is that which I refer to as the boost sensor. Different part of the world - different term maybe.

    Map sensor cleaning

I stand corrected re offroad modification. To clarify the questions asked: I have only referred to the MAF and the Boost Sensor. They need regular cleaning with the right cleaners. Boost is way more robust than the MAF. The MAF has a fine platinum wire in it and a resistor. Harsh solvents...

    Parking brakes adjustment?

It's even easier than indicated: They do have a self-adjuster although if it is a long way out you need to follow the instructions per the thread. Of course, repeating the following a number of times can get a result. First: 1 Find a slight incline and allow the Jeep to roll backwards...

    Drive belt jumping off

Gates emailed me with info re their new ribbed belt alignemnt kit. Nice - laser and target designed to sit into the ribs of the pulleys to check alignments around the system, belt wear indicator (but these are free from Gates - or were a short while ago and a few other bits'n pieces that will...

    Electronic throtle control problem.

I see this one this way. Hope it helps. I usually break it down to components that are related to the engine type(in this case CRD) so the code into its components yields: P = powertrain 0 = generic OBD II 1 = Air/fuel metering system 46 = possibly the turbo/boost controller. This...

    brakes

Just a suggestion a little out of left field but is there solidified muck in the bleed nipple? Have had this resistance to bleeding brake systems before. It can sometimes pack into the vents on the nipple and prevent a successful bleed of a wheel cyclinder. Can take some cleaning for sure...
